The visionary who dedicated his life to serving the sick and educating the needy
1825 - 1900
In 1857, Padre Luigi Maria Monti arrived at the Holy Spirit Hospital in Rome with a heart full of compassion and a vision that would transform countless lives. It was here that he founded The Congregation of the Sons of the Immaculate Conception, establishing a legacy of service that continues to this day.
With the Immaculate Virgin as mother and patroness, the Congregation first spread throughout Rome, Lazio, Orte, Civita Castellana, Nepi, and Capranica. Blessed Luigi Maria Monti dedicated his life not only to direct service but also to providing religious formation to his religious brothers, ensuring the continuation of their mission to serve the needy and abandoned.
Until his death in 1900, Luigi Monti spent his energy giving religious formation to his religious brothers so as to continue to serve the needy and abandoned.
His vision of holistic care - combining physical healing, education, and spiritual guidance - remains the cornerstone of all CFIC institutions worldwide, including our beloved St. Joseph's English Medium School.
